MVI (Mark Vickness Interconnected) is a groundbreaking San Francisco Bay Area-based world chamber jazz fusion quintet led by composer/modern fingerstyle guitarist Mark Vickness. MVI doesn’t just perform music, it forges meaningful connections, reminding us that we’re all part of an interconnected human story.

At its core, MVI embodies the conviction that music is the universal language of humanity - interweaving diverse cultures and emotions into a cohesive, transcendent soundscape. With over 1.4 million Spotify streams since their first album release in 2023 and over 1.3 million views of their videos on YouTube, MVI has established itself as a major progressive instrumental fusion group.

Together with elite collaborators, including two-time Grammy nominated violinist Myra Choo, cellist Joseph Hebert, chart-topping bassist Dan Feiszli, and multi-wind instrument phenom Jesse Levit, MVI crafts instrumental compositions that are both technically stunning emotionally resonant. Their music offers a deep reflection on life’s tapestry - exploring the full spectrum of emotional colors, all while uniting listeners through shared experience.

Mark holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in composition and has studied piano, guitar, sitar and tabla. With influences ranging from Michael Hedges to Pat Metheney, Mark has decades of performing experience in multiple genres. He has worked with world-renowned musicians including modern fingerstyle guitarists Alex de Grassi and Andy McKee, mandolin virtuoso Mike Marshall and legendary bassist, Michael Manring.

Mark’s debut solo CD, Places, garnered tremendous critical acclaim. Acoustic Guitar Magazine had this say: “Vickness’ uncanny ability to evoke the complex emotions linked to these times and places transcend the specific and catapults his travelogue into the universal.”

A graduate of the Berklee School of Music and a 2025 two-time Grammy nominee, Myra was classically trained from an early age in Singapore. She moved to the US in 2019 where she quickly established herself as a “go to” violinist in the LA studio recording and film score scene.

She has worked with artists such as Cynthia Erivo, Imagine Dragons and JJ Lin, and been featured in soundtracks for The Witcher Season 5 and Whitney Houston: I Wanna Dance With Somebody.

Myra brings her infectious playing and broad range of skills (violinist, producer, multi-instrumentalist, singer, mix engineer) to MVI. Extravaganza India says her solos “strike like an arrow, pointed and deep into my heart.”

Having graduated from the Manhattan School of Music, Jesse's virtuoso horn playing is a staple in both the West Coast and New York City scenes. He has performed alongside legendary artists such as Wynton Marsalis, Diane Witherspoon and Benny Green.

In addition to saxophones, Jesse brings his composing, arranging, keyboard and EWI expertise to MVI, as well as tremendous versatility having recorded and performed jazz, funk, modern progressive and world music in a wide range of venues from SF Jazz to touring Japan to New York City clubs.

Joe has recorded and performed around the world across multiple genres with hundreds of artists including Stevie Wonder, Santana, Tower of Power, Journey, Natalie Cole and Jessie Norman. He has recorded on the Grammy-nominated compilation, John Williams: The Star Wars Trilogy with the Skywalker Symphony and on the Grammy-winning song “Maria” from the acclaimed Supernatural CD.

Joe served for years as the Assistant Principal cellist with the Oakland East Bay Symphony and on the faculty of Cal State University East Bay. The Oakland Tribune describes him as “one of the most eloquently expressive cellists in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Experienced on both upright and electric basses, Dan has performed in concert with such notable artists as James Moody, Raul Midon, and Mickey Hart.

He has toured nationally and internationally with artists including Julio Iglesias, Nicole Yarling and Raul DiBlasio, and played in the pit orchestras for musical theatre productions including Hamilton, The Lion King and Billy Elliot.

In addition to his career as a performer, Dan is featured on hundreds of recordings as both a bassist and recording engineer, and has recorded and mixed albums reaching the highest positions on the US Top 40 Jazz Charts.

Dan’s work with Mark dates back years as both a bassist performing with Glass House and recording engineer for Places, Interconnected and In The Rain Shadow.
